Athena is a special doe, as she is the only daughter we have left from Maia, who was in turn the only daughter of Fawn, a doe Katherine took to fair as a market goat. While Athena is not really a show doe due to issues with her mammary system, she has proven to be a wonderful brood doe, and her daughter Spider is a herd favorite.

This line is notoriously slow to mature, and Athena was a gangly, tubular doe until she was a three year old, when she really came into her own. She is now a long, tall, big bodied doe with one of the best toplines in the barn.

Her general appearance is easy to admire in the pen, and she went out to a few shows in '21 to help with numbers, surprising us with a number of class wins, as well as picking up two Reserve Champions, proving that even the brood does can hold their own in the show ring!

"Patches" is absolutely one of the silliest does in the barn, now that she has gotten comfortable with us. Another market goat turned breed doe, Kitty purchased her from the Cass County Fair auction in 2018, not realizing she actually had a partial pedigree, which really packs a punch when you dig back a few generations.

We had absolutely no idea what she would grow up to be, but when she freshened this spring it was clear that she had been worth the risk. She has impressed with an extremely productive, well attached mammary system, milking at the top of the herd, and easily earning a milk star.

As a 3 year old Patches has continued to impress us, and as she got more comfortable in the show ring she started to impress judges as well. Placing top 3 in almost every ring, she earned her first Grand Champion win at the Noble County ADGA Show, and was an exciting 3rd place at the Wisconsin State Fair.

Patches is a bit uneven as a 4 year old, but even so is milking just as well as ever, and even picked up her second leg with a GCH/BOB win!
